When on a business trip, take the time to tour the area or relax by the pool

NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Traveling on business? Business trips are expensive and stressful, so consider staying an extra day to relax at the pool or play tourist.
As long as you are going away, take advantage of being in a new and different place. You can set up appointments to meet with a few more clients or potential clients on that last morning, but take the rest of the day to explore the area, go shopping or visit a local attraction. Then fly home that night.
Your staff and family may give you grief, but you deserve some down time. Many savvy entrepreneurs tell me that they dream up their best ideas when they are just wandering around a new city or sitting on the beach.
Some business people tell me they always give themselves the day after a trip to dig out, not even going into the office or telling people that they are back in town.
