NEW YORK (CNNfn) - The latest installment in the Harry Potter series goes on sale at bookstores around the world.

Nearly four million copies of "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" will be released at midnight in the United States. The wildly popular children's books chronicle the adventures of a young boy with magical powers. Now the runaway success of the books has spawned an empire of anything to do with Harry Potter.
