Decide early how best to celebrate: employee costumes, decorations, candy?

NEW YORK (CNNfn) - There's still time to decide how you plan to handle Halloween at your office this year.
Figure out whether or not you want folks to wear costumes to work. In some businesses, especially retail stores, dressing up is a positive thing. In other cases, it is totally inappropriate.
Since Halloween falls on a weekday, it may be a good day to have a staff lunch or distribute candy around the office for employees and visitors.
Decorating the office is another issue to consider. If it works well and won't interfere with productivity or safety, go ahead. If not, set a clear policy this week and make sure there is no confusion.
