"No matter how subtle they may be intended to be, they are neither stylish or funny," says Wilcox. "The same goes for cufflinks."

He cites a client who was picking up his new suit for a wedding he was attending in Australia. The client said he had just the right tie for the occasion -- a blue tie with koala bears on it. Wilcox says: "I told him that if he was intent on wearing it, I wouldn't let him have the suit."
