Columbia University is the priciest Ivy League school for the 2016-2017 school year. The annual cost for tuition, fees, room and board here soars above the average $45,370 for private colleges.

But the school gives generous scholarships that average $47,043, and it promises that students whose families earn less than $60,000 a year won't have to pay anything.
