Was this company a 2011 top stock?

For United Technologies, change is the name of the game. The diversified manufacturer -- which owns air conditioning and heating company Carrier, the Otis elevator company, and Sikorsky, a builder of commercial and military helicopters -- is set to spend $450 million on restructuring costs, ingest a massive company, and sell off a few others this year. Last September, United announced that it would purchase aircraft components manufacturer Goodrich for $16.5 billion, the company's largest acquisition. The Goodrich deal prompted EU regulators to launch an inquiry into whether it would constitute an antitrust violation. The company plans to sell off $3 billion in assets to support the purchase.
